State lawmakers representing Washington’s 25th Legislative District will hold an in-person town hall meeting on April 18 in Puyallup. The event is scheduled from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the Fruitland Grange, located at 11102 86th Ave. E.

Senator Chris Gildon and Representatives Cyndy Jacobsen and Michael Keaton will meet with constituents from areas including Puyallup, South Hill, Summit, and Waller. They plan to answer questions and hear comments about state government matters, with a focus on issues from this year’s legislative session.

The recently concluded 60-day legislative session ended on March 12 and included several controversial decisions related to affordability and public safety. Among these was the approval of a new state income tax.

Attendees can expect coffee and water starting at 9:30 a.m., with the formal town hall beginning at 10 a.m.

Gildon serves as Republican leader on the Senate Ways and Means Committee and is also part of the Housing Committee. Jacobsen holds roles as assistant ranking Republican on both the House Finance Committee and Housing Committee, while also serving on Civil Rights and Judiciary. Keaton is ranking Republican for House Education, in addition to serving on Appropriations; Postsecondary Education & Workforce; and Technology, Economic Development & Veterans committees.
